How does it work?
PestBye Whole House Rat and Mice Repeller combines both ultrasonic and electromagnetic technology to deter rodents from your property in a safe and humane way. Ultrasound is a loud noise at a high frequency: it's too high for humans and most domestic pets to hear but is audible to most rodents. Please note the device may affect rodent pets such as gerbils, hamsters or chinchillas. It has been suggested that electromagnetic fields create an environment where rodents are less likely to nest. Rodents are likely to move away from a house where they cannot nest.
How quickly does it work?
We hope that most problems will disappear within a few days. However, if the rodents have already built a nest in your house, they are unlikely to desert their young until they are old enough to move. Fortunately, rodents mature quickly, and their offspring will be fully grown within a month. If you suspect that there is a nest in your house, it may be worth using traps as well, but remember that traps alone do not provide a long-term solution to your problem.
Constant When first installing the unit, we recommend using the device on Constant Timing for 2 weeks, this will give a full blast of the ultrasonic treatment.
Random The random timing follows on from using the constant timing, this constantly turns the ultrasonic frequency on and off at different intervals which doesn't allow the pest to get used to the sound. This setting proves effective in the long term to keep pests at bay.
Fixed Frequency The fixed frequency setting emits a constant ultrasonic frequency which is audible to rodents, similar to the constant timing setting, it's worthwhile leaving this on for 2 weeks from when you get the device. Again this will give a blast of the treatment and should prove to be enough to drive the pests away.
Variable Frequency Sometimes pests can be a little more stubborn, the variable frequency covers a wide range of frequencies ensuring that the unit will hit every possible hearing range of rodents. If after 2 weeks you're still seeing signs of the pest, we recommend changing to this frequency to cover all range of hearing.
Not suitable for outdoor use.
